Logicvirus
The Logicvirus represents the culmination of about a year’s worth of trial and error in an attempt to create the ideal overdrive/boost pedal to capture the Swedish Chainsaw sound.

VHS//424
The idea for the VHS//424 initially came about as a result of our fascination with the dreamy qualities of shoegaze and dreampop music combined with the lo-fi aesthetic. To that end, we conceptualized the pedal as a combination of a preamp and a delay.

lovelace
Lovelace is a stereo reverb pedal featuring its two most sought-after modes, Bloom and Reverse. While it features the simple but effective original controls of Input, Mix, and Output, we’ve expanded the controls to fine-tune the overall Decay and to add optional Modulation to the effected signal.

About Us
Blacksleep Audio started as a solo backyard project during the height of the pandemic. In 2021, the team formed, thus realizing their goal of catering to each specific scene and niche without relying on the rarity of components. With this goal in mind, Blacksleep Audio aims to provide accessible pedals that fit perfectly in their intended genres but can still yield interesting results when used in various contexts.
Last March 31, 2023, Blacksleep Audio released their first line of pedals, namely Logicvirus, Pitchbog, and VHS//424. Each pedal was designed with different local scenes in mind, upholding the aforementioned ethos.
Currently, Blacksleep Audio is researching on emulating vacuum tube circuits and incorporating DSP capabilities to add more flexibility in their future designs.
Logicvirus
The Logicvirus represents the culmination of about a year’s worth of trial and error in an attempt to create the ideal overdrive/boost pedal to capture the Swedish Chainsaw sound. Initially inspired by using the Boss HM-2 Heavy Metal pedal with everything dimed but the gain left at zero and running it into an already crunchy amplifier, we sought out ways to get into the same ballpark but with more controllable gain and note definition, designing this pedal as more of a boost and overdrive rather than a standalone distortion pedal. The Logicvirus is based on the ubiquitous “Screamer” lineage of overdrives but with tweaks and additions such as the blendable HM-2 EQ section, a noise gate, asymmetrical clipping, a Tight/Deep switch, internal charge pump so that the pedal runs at 18v for more headroom, and true bypass utilizing a microcontroller relay switching system.Price: ₱ 5,500

Pitchbog
The Pitchbog is a fuzz pedal inspired by the biting tone of the Boss FZ-2 Hyper Fuzz and based on the Elk Super Fuzz Sustainar, a Triangle Muff variant from Japan. In our quest to create the ultimate doom metal pedal, we figured out that the FZ-2’s bite came from the analog octave up circuit before the fuzz, so we combined it with the Elk circuit and added in a mids control to make up for a common shortcoming shared by both pedals. The pedal’s design makes it so that it doesn’t have the input impedance problem common with other fuzz circuits, and we’ve implemented features such as a JFET blend circuit for the octave up effect, true bypass utilizing a microcontroller relay switching system, and artwork by local artist Pants.Price: ₱ 5,500

VHS//424
The idea for the VHS//424 initially came about as a result of our fascination with the dreamy qualities of shoegaze and dreampop music combined with the lo-fi aesthetic. To that end, we conceptualized the pedal as a combination of a preamp and a delay. The VHS side on the left is a PT2399-based digital delay voiced to sound like a vintage tape delay with an adjustable Tone control and Depth and Speed knobs for the modulation of the repeats to simulate wow and flutter. The 424 side on the right is based on a Tascam Portastudio cassette recorder channel strip, but we’ve tweaked the EQ section to work better on electric guitar as well as pulling the overall volume down to a more usable range. Both sides of the pedal can be used individually or together to add a warm and dreamy quality to your tone. To add to its versatility, we’ve also incorporated a send and return section to provide you with more freedom in your signal chain. Other notable features are delay trails so that your repeats can linger on even after bypassing the delay side, and microcontroller relay switching systems for both sides of the pedal.Price: ₱ 7,000

MySuperGuitar
The MySuperGuitar is the tone enhancer you didn’t know you needed - just plug it in your solid state amplifier’s effects loop and instantly get better, more tube-like tone and response. The concept started out as a spur of the moment modification for a solid-state amplifier for a local venue, which eventually developed into a device meant to be run into a solid-state amplifier’s effects loop to essentially mimic the power amp section of a tube amplifier.

Lovelace
Representing our first foray into digital signal processing (DSP), the Lovelace is our take on the Alesis MidiVerb II - a cult classic rackmount unit known around shoegaze circles and made famous by My Bloody Valentine.Lovelace is a stereo reverb pedal featuring its two most sought-after modes, Bloom and Reverse. While it features the simple but effective original controls of Input, Mix, and Output, we’ve expanded the controls to fine-tune the overall Decay and to add optional Modulation to the effected signal. The heart of the pedal is our proprietary Braindance 1 module, processing our reverbs in 24bit, 48kHz sampling rate. Your original signal does not go through analog to digital conversion, and the final sound goes through a class A JFET preamp section from our MySuperGuitar utility box. This results in a much more natural coloration of the signal compared to the original rackmount unit. The Lovelace features true stereo inputs and outputs, buffered switching, and trails.Artwork by James Lorrence Ocampo
ControlsInput: sets the overall gain level to accommodate a wide variety of input signals, higher settings will introduce a more driven soundMix: controls the overall blend of the dry and effected signals, turning the Mix knob full clockwise gives you the full wet signalOutput: controls the overall output of the pedalDecay: controls the amount of feedback from 3 seconds to 10 seconds in the Bloom mode, and sets the decay amount at 100ms, 200ms, 300ms, and 400ms in the Reverse mode (note that the decay knob can rest in between 2 values when in reverse mode, causing unwanted glitches)Modulation: adds pitch modulation to reduce the metallic quality of the reverb algorithm, turning the Modulation knob full counterclockwise gives you the original soundBloom/Reverse switch: toggles between the Bloom and Reverse modesMax current draw = 250mA
Note: Make sure to have enough current headroom (twice the current draw is ideal) to ensure the pedal performs optimally.
